Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024

Office LTSC is the long-term servicing release of the Office applications: a perpetual, device-bound licence that receives security fixes but no feature updates for the life of the release. It exists for a specific set of situations — process control terminals, air-gapped networks, regulated systems where any change requires revalidation, and machines with no reliable internet connection.

It is deliberately not the general-purpose choice. LTSC does not include the cloud services, does not receive new capabilities, and is licensed per device rather than per user. For a typical knowledge worker, a Microsoft 365 subscription is both cheaper over the replacement cycle and better supported.
